THANK YOU!!!

 
Because of all the support and participation in our Birthday Cake Celebration month, we were not only able to adopt Cake, but get her spayed as well! She did wonderfully, and is recovering well (but she's mad that she won't get to rough-house for a bit). She was indeed pregnant, but only a few weeks along. She was carrying nine (omg!) babies, so we feel we made the right decision. Two of the kittens from her past litter are in foster care and still looking for forever homes...we couldn't do that to nine more. Not to mention that Cake is a very petite cat and might have had difficulties with the birthing. 

She had her first vet visit today and again, charmed everyone and was a complete gem. :) She got some blood work, got some shots, and has a clean bill of health (not even ear mites)! She had fleas when we first got her, but we cleared that up right away. We also found out that she's very young! The vet estimated (depending on when she got pregnant with her last litter of kittens - at 4-6 months old) that she's only a year old, or just under a year old. Poor thing! It would explain how much she likes to play though...lol. She certainly keeps us busy! :) All of the Monsters call her the "Baby Monster" because most of them are older than her.

I still can't believe that she found me and is now a part of my family.Words cannot express enough the gratitude that I feel to everyone who helped us out. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, and that our family is whole again with this new furry addition. My life is already so much better just because she's in it, and I really think it was meant to be.

The Winners!

June 30th: This afternoon, our Official Monster Nursery MC, HadesValentine stuck his hand in the ticket box and chose a winner! (yes, we really did print and cut all the tickets out and crunch them up in the box- we're hardcore like that!) HadesValentine has been the overseer of the drawings and winners since our first one in 2006! Everything usually goes as planned, but this time something happened! When he pulled his hand out of the box, there was more than one name stuck to it! :O

We thought that this was a sign, and maybe there was supposed to be more than one winner, so we went with it! Monster are spontaneous like that! Anyways, on to the good part. We're going to go with the name that was on the front of his hand first as the person who gets first choice, then the ones on the back (lol) will get second/third choice as they contact us.
