What makes these monsters special from other monsters?

•All of the monsters from Monster Nursery are completely hand-made. Some are partially machine stitched and then finished with hand stitching, and some (the wee ones) are *completely* sewn by hand with a needle and thread!
•They each come from Girlgoth's imagination and her specially made patterns for each size monster. Although they start from a pattern, you'll find that no two are alike - they all have a unique look that stands out from the rest! You can start a monster family and each one you have will be completely one of a kind!
•Each monster has a red suede heart with an X sewn on it. This is a Monster Nursery trademark, and a symbol to you that your monster is an original!
•Each monster has a Monster Nursery name tag with your monsters own unique name on one side, and the Monster Nursery logo on the other.
•When you receive your new monster, you also get a Monster Nursery 1" pin, and a Proud Monster Parent 1" pin along with it!

Does the little red heart have special powers?

Everyone knows that the heart is simultaneously the tenderest and the strongest organ. It can be ridiculously easy to break one, and yet it goes right on loving, even if it's in a thousand pieces. That makes it the ideal place to store the most important things!
Just like with people, all Baby Monsters have special gifts (some might even call them super powers!)
Those gifts are located mostly in our hearts. Some of them are obvious right away, but it is only with love that all of our gifts become fully manifest.
When you adopt a Baby Monster and give it love, you will slowly discover what gifts it brings. Most adoptive parents are surprised to find that their Baby Monsters have gifts that fit right in with their own lives. If you love to ride motorcycles, you will probably find that your Baby Monster loves to ride motorcycles, too. If you love to stay home and veg in front of your TV, you will likely discover that your Baby Monster has the rare gift of quiet companionship! Some like to go clubbing, some like to go to school and learn things... there is an endless variety! But we can't tell you how it is that you end up with the Baby Monster who fits perfectly into your life, because that's all part of the magic!

What kind of clothes or toys do Baby Monsters like?

I like every kind! But mostly it varies from monster to monster, depending on their personalities and hobbies.

Exactly at what point do you become alive? I sure hope it's not when she's cutting the fabric!

Well, like we always say, we're actually born in the imagination, but that's not when we get our bodies. Our bodies actually come to life when Girlgoth ties off the last stitch connecting our hearts. This is also the point when we usually get our names.
But don't worry, Baby Monsters are very strong and don't feel pain the way humans do. If you squish one of us into your pocket or backpack or something it doesn't hurt us at all. In fact, we just get all hyped up because we think we're headed out for an adventure!
And we don't have any pain from repair work or anything. Baby Monsters live for adventure, and we know sometimes it might lead to having a stitch or two if the adventure gets particularly rowdy!

What do Baby Monsters eat?

Different Baby Monsters have different preferences, of course, but we all tend to like fun kid foods like tater tots, baby corndogs, spaghettios, and pizza..
And we're almost all caffeine addicts!
We all have a special weak spot for sweet/tart flavors, too, like Girlgoth's Diet Rockstar drinks. YUM!
Yes! But the truth is we can live without food, as long as we have love and adventure.

Do Baby Monsters really live under beds and/or in closets?

Baby Monsters can live just about anywhere, but they require love and adventure to stay healthy. So while a few might live under beds or in closets, I can guarantee you they're sneaking out every chance they get!
Even a shy monster like me needs adventures and love!

Can I Request a Custom Monster?

Aren't Baby Monsters mean and scary?

A very common misconception! Monsters are fierce and loyal, not scary! We will stand up for ourselves and those we love and are loyal to, but we're not usually mean or destructive. That's no fun, and monsters love fun!
